Professional Development at Fireman's Fund

We are committed to supporting our employees in their professional development to build the skills and expertise required to succeed. As part of this, we offer a variety of development opportunities designed to help our employees deliver excellence to our customers, achieve results in their current job, and prepare for future roles and responsibilities.

Here’s an overview of the development opportunities at Fireman’s Fund.

Designation Assistance Program
Fireman’s Fund will reimburse employees for the cost of completing a professional designation program. Most employees complete designations offered by the American Institute of Chartered Property Casualty Underwriters (AICPCU), Insurance Institute for America (IIA) or the American Educational Institute (AEI), but there are other programs and certificates available as well. By completing a designation program, you will gain valuable new expertise not to mention cash awards ranging from $250 to $3000.
Tuition Assistance Program
Each calendar year, Fireman’s Fund will reimburse employees for up to $5,250 ($3,675 if you are part-time) for any courses or degree program that is business-related. This is a great opportunity for you to gain new expertise to help you in your current job, or in preparation for a future assignment. As an employee, you also qualify for discounts at certain schools and universities
Leadership Development

Whether you are a new or experienced leader we provide our people managers with a wide range of resources to build personal skill sets and keep employees engaged and focused on goals. Below is an overview of the Leadership Development opportunities at Fireman’s Fund.

Leading People Cohort Groups – This program is designed for new and/or recently promoted people managers (18 months or less) that would benefit from learning our leadership methodology, business tools, and resources.

SkillSoft Leadership Advantage - Targeted to mid to upper-level executives, aspiring leaders and high potential employees, these learning tracks offer a combination of learning opportunities in various modes of instruction. Each track covers a key leadership or management competency (such as innovation and creativity, collaboration, negotiation, finance, teamwork, or strategic thinking) in about two hours. In addition, participants have access to live, WebEx hosted events facilitated by top-notch leadership gurus.

Allianz Management Institute - AMI programs are designed to engage senior leaders in dialogue about strategic business issues on a local, regional and global level. Delivered through a combination of case studies, discussions, and presentation from internal and external thought leaders this program provides an intimate platform for discussing the most important challenges which are critical to business transformation.

Institute for Management Studies - Our partnership with the Institute of Management Studies (IMS) allows Fireman’s Fund to offer its leaders access to one of the most innovative and cost-effective management development series available.
