A Culture of GivingIn 1863, Fireman’s Fund founder William Holdredge had a vision: to start a company that was financially successful but that also performed a civic duty. That’s why he pledged a portion of the company’s profits to support the widows and children of fallen firefighters.
We continue to be a values-based organization. Even in hard economic times, the company supports charitable causes and encourages employees to donate their time and money to help those who are less fortunate. We understand the importance of engaging in the communities where we live and work. Our commitment to social responsibility is reflected in our company values and serves as our inspiration for the future.
Heritage Program®The courage and teamwork firefighters display is an inspiration to us at Fireman’s Fund. It’s what our company was built on and guides everything we do. Through our award-winning Heritage Program, we are proud to support firefighters who risk their lives daily to make our communities safer. We do this by funding firefighting equipment and training that help save lives.
Days of Sharing During this annual event, employees spend a day assisting non-profit organizations in local communities. Some employees’ service days have included: supporting fire departments on safety and community projects, acting as classroom aides for young children, sorting food into healthy meals for local food banks, donating blood and much more.
